NVH is an engineering practice that studies noise, vibration and roughness characteristics; these are an integral part of the boating experience, ensuring the quietest, quietest 2 Stroke 40hp Outboard Motor Short Shaft for consumers. The new technology center has two ocean-specific semi-anechoic chambers, structural dynamic test cabins, listening rooms, offices and workspaces.
Fond du Lac, Wisc.. -- Only eight months after breaking ground, Mercury Marine has officially opened a fresh state-of-the-art expansion at its global headquarters in Fond du Lac. The two-story NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) Technical Center adds close to 20,000 additional square feet to the more than 2.5 million square campus. This $10M investment into Mercury's global headquarters gives the company the greatest and most grand testing centre in the marine sector. In total, Mercury has invested over $1B worldwide in growth and R&D since 2008.
The two‑story building which is nearly 20,000 square foot Technical Center will comprise:
Two marine-specific hemi-anechoic chambers designed to give a consistent test environment that mimics being out on the open water with no external sounds existing;
Structural dynamic testing bays for the measurement and analysis of the NVH properties of 2-Stroke Outboard Motor 3.5hp, parts, and full configurations on ships of around 45 ft in length and up to 12 feet in ray;
