The squirrel, the pony and the ox travel to Tibet at the same time. The ox is wealthy and he can afford air tickets. However, the other two need to walk and ask for rides on their way.
The squirrel has many requirements, cool and comfortable car, interesting and beautiful woman driver etc. Unlike the squirrel, the pony is more practical. All he wants is a safe and relaxing trip.
A month later...
The ox visits most attractions and takes numerous photos. He enjoys himself to the fullest as he could pay whatever he wants.
The squirrel doesn’t even finish a third of his travel as he rarely sees a car that meets his requirements. He is so tired of walking and wants to end the travel earlier.
On the contrary, the pony takes several rides, meeting various cars and different people. They share experiences and tell stories on the way. He doesn’t take many photos but knows more stories; He doesn’t visit many scenic spots but experiences local folk customs.
Who would you like to be?
Some customers often ask me, ‘What are the differences between your machines and import machines (Yamaha, Mercury, Tohatsu, Suzuki, Honda, etc.)?’ Well, I can’t give very professional explanations as an engineer. And I guess the person who comes up with such a question doesn’t know this domain very well (no offense). I would answer, ‘If you are the ox, please choose import engines. Why not? Professional, time-honored, high quality... If you are either the squirrel or the pony, please make your own choices. No one has the right to judge you. Just as the half of 8, it could be 4, 3(if you slice vertically) or 0 (if you slice horizontally), depending on how you see it.
For me, I would like to make the car that loads the pony and be the driver who gives him a ride. Every encounter in life, is a fate, let alone a trip together. A humorous driver, an ordinary but reliable and stable car, the same destination, we can still travel to Tibet if the pony feels at ease. We share our experiences and solve small problems that might happen on the way. If he meets a better car and a more interesting driver, I will also wish him a more comfortable trip. I guess he will also thank me for driving and accompanying him for a while.
It might not be a good answer to the question but all I want to tell is that when it comes to choices, there is no clear definition of right ones or wrong ones. Just choose the one that suits you more.
